Step 1: Lighting
Go to your camera app on your phone to take the photo.
Turn OFF the flash on your phone when taking the photo. (A flash will add glare to your photo which will be difficult to transform into a detailed print)
Make sure there is as much natural light as possible when taking a photo of your fingerprint.
Note: the pinkies are the hardest to see so pick any other finger if possible
Find a plain colored background (a light color that is smooth & without texture is best for photographing).
TIP: Taping a white or light piece of paper to a wall or counter and using that as a background works best for this method.
When taking the photo, tap the screen where the fingerprint is so that your phone will focus clearly on the fingerprint.
Take the picture!
Zoom in on your photo. If the image is clear and you can see the fingerprint’s pattern, then you have taken a great photo!
